Current Version is 2.2.1 Download

** If you currently have Version 1, do not download Version 2 onto the same computer unless you have purchased an upgrade. Version 2 requires a new serial number and you will be unable to use Version 1 until you have obtained the new serial number.

When you click "Download", the file will be downloaded to your computer.
After it has downloaded, the installation will start automatically.
Follow the instructions.

What's New in Version 2.2.1?
Turns out that Snow Leopard handled something ever so slightly differently than Leopard which caused Save the Cat! to crash when you tried to close a project. Thanks to the help of one of our new Save the Cat! for the iPhone customers, we were able to track it down and fix the problem.

What's New in Version 2.2.0?
You can now take your screenplays mobile on your iPhone or iPod Touch by uploading them to the new Save the Cat! for the iPhone app available on the App Store. Or, start a new screenplay on your iPhone and download it to your desktop version.
Check out the iPhone version in iTunes.

(If you don't have iTunes installed, you will be taken to the download page first.)

What's New in Version 2.1.2?
A new installation program has been configured to make installing Save the Cat on your Mac much easier.
A potential issue for first time users that may have caused you to have to enter your serial number every time you started Save the Cat has been fixed.

What's New in Version 2.1.1?
This version was used for testing only and has been skipped.

What's New in Version 2.1.0?
You can now export your screenplay for Final Draft in the File Converter Format which makes for a cleaner and more accurate import into Final Draft.

What's New in Version 2.0.4?
There was a minor issue when paging through the scene cards if the page count was not 110 pages. Cards would get skipped. This has been fixed.

What's New in Version 2.0.3?
Per the request of some Save the Cat users, we have added a new Auto Save feature. Look under the Preferences menu under the Save the Cat menu for the new Set Auto Save Interval menu. Click that menu then select the interval you want to use or None if you don't want to Auto Save a screenplay that you're working on.
If you have beats that were longer than one printed page and tried to print the beat sheet, the program would crash. This has been fixed as long as you keep the beats to less than two pages (for now).

What's New in Version 2.0.2?
The formatting for printing scene cards has been changed so the full description will be visible.

What's New in Version 2.0.1?
In spite of all the testing a couple of things slipped through. Moving scene cards into a specific spot in the third row of the Board caused a crash. This has been fixed. It was the difference between .6 and .66667. Ironically, the gap was right between All Is Lost and Dark Night of the Soul. So, if you experienced this problem, you now know how an "All Is Lost" moment feels.
The description box on the scene card wasn't wrapping correctly. This has been fixed.

What's New in Version 1.1.8?
In an effort to make Save the Cat more compatible with older versions of Mac OS X, the Export to Text function started exporting the screenplay as numbers. This has been corrected.

What's New in Version 1.1.7?
Tweaks to avoid possible minor memory leaks.

What's New in Version 1.1.6?
The Export to Text function and Export for Windows are now compatible with versions of Mac OS X prior to version 10.4.0.
Because of the unfortunate program crashes of '06' and '07', the position of your scene cards may have been saved while the size of The Board was not saved. As a result, when you opened your screenplay, some of your scene cards may not be visible even though the Scene Card count is correct. The Board will now automatically size itself to ensure that all scene cards are visible.

What's New in Version 1.1.5?
Sherlock Holmes was called in to find the elusive criminal that was causing the program to crash, seemingly at random. As it turns out, after deleting a scene card, three little land mines were left behind. And, if you happened to move your mouse or another scene card across one of those land mines, the program would crash. They were difficult to find because they were invisible but we found the culprit and have sent him off to Alcatraz. Hopefully, your confidence in the program will be restored.

What's New in Version 1.1.4?
Beat 1 on the Beat Sheet was not wrapping the text. This has been fixed.

What's New in Version 1.1.3?
The large view Scene Card would retain the color of the previously opened Scene Card in the field's border.
The method used to trigger the need for a screenplay to be saved has been changed to increase compatibility with Mac OS X v10.3.

What's New in Version 1.1.2?
The Heading, Description, Emotional Change, and Conflict fields on the Scene Card were wrapping the text to multiple lines. This has been fixed.
The Emotional Change and Conflict labels and Advice Cat on a Scene Card that was behind another Scene Card would show through if the mouse was moved over the location of those labels. This has been fixed.
Holding an arrow key down to quickly move through a field on a Scene Card would result in remnants of the cursor being left in the field until another key was pressed. This has been fixed.
The tool tip on a Scene Card would sometimes show the information for a Scene Card that was hidden below the desired Scene Card. This works better now although an odd quirk still remains. If you place the mouse over the title bar of a Scene Card to view the info for that Scene Card then move the mouse to the Scene Card on the left, the info in the tool tip doesn't change. But, if you start at the left and move the mouse to the right, the info does change.
The suggested use is to move the mouse from below the Scene Card title bar into the title bar to view the correct information.
